Aluminum MIG and TIG Welding Consumables

Al Tig Welding 00

Alloy 4043 (MIG)
ER4043 is a general-purpose type aluminum welding wire. It contains silicon additives, which result in improved fluidity (wetting action) of the weld pool and also produces a weld less sensitive to cracking. Its bright weld finish makes it a popular choice of welders. It can be used to weld various grades of aluminum.

Alloy 4043 (TIG)
Qualified to AWS A5.10 R4043, ABS, ISO Designation AlSi5, Alloy 4043 is a 5% silicon alloy used to weld heat-treatable base alloys. It is most often used to weld the 6XXX series of alloys. The silicon addition improves puddle fluidity, producing an appealing bead profile. It is less crack-sensitive on the 6XXX series than other welding alloys.

Alloy 5356 (MIG)
ER5356 is a general-purpose type aluminum alloy, which is typically chosen for its relatively high shear strength. In addition, it also offers excellent corrosion resistance when exposed to salt water. ER5356 should be used for welding 5000 series aluminum base metals.

Alloy 5356 (TIG)
Alloy 5356 is an all position non-heat treatable TIG wire used to weld the 5XXX series alloys when 40,000 psi tensile strength is not a requirement. Alloy 5356 is a very good all purpose wire so it is the most widely used of all aluminum fillers metals.
